HONG KONG (Reuters) – Dalian Yifang, a member of the Chinese Super League, has finalized the signing of Slovenian international midfielder Marek Hamsik of Napoli, the club confirmed via social media.
The 31-year-old arrives in China after more than 11 seasons with the Naples team, where he surpbaded Diego Maradona's score to become the club's top scorer.
He joins a Dalian team under a new management. South Korean Choi Kang-hee recently replaced Bernd Schuster following the fight against relegation last year during their first campaign in the Chinese leadership.
Hamsik joins former Atletico Madrid duos Yannick Carrasco and Nicolas Gaitan in Dalian books.
Dalian will start the season on March 3 during his trip to Henan Jianye.
