Gemma Atkinson spoke of her sorrow after her beloved dog, Norman, was injured.

Sproodle Normon injured the cruciate ligament of one leg – after suffering the same injury to a different leg eight months ago.

Gemma, 34, found her dog injured while playing in a field, but she was unable to pick it up because she was pregnant.

The star of Strictly had to be helped by her mother, who lives nearby, to roll back Norman at an emergency vet, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Sharing a video of her hug and stroking Normon, Gemma said, "I've had the worst news today.

The other cruciate ligament of Norman is gone, so he needs another operation. "

She added, "Because I'm pregnant, I could not take him in. He was leaning against me so I could comfort him and I could not.

Snuggling up against the patient, she tells him, "Oh, Norman, I love you so much, buddy."

Explaining the situation in a post next to the video, she said, "Here we are again, thank God of my mother and Peter, retired and living in 2 minutes!

"I remember a lot of people telling me that was the case with their dogs, so I was waiting for it a bit.

Gemma had tied up the Norman and Ollie dogs to help her cancel her pregnancy announcement earlier this month.

The former Hollyoak actress is expecting her first baby with Strictly star Gorka Marquez, 28 years old.
