Mukarama receiving his Naa Odofoley Awards from the Standards Committee
Black Maidens striker Abdulai Mukarama was finally awarded the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay last year.
The striker on Tuesday received the gold shoe trophy and the bronze ball at the secretariat of the Ghana Football Federation.
Mukarama led Ghana to the quarter-finals of the tournament, where they scored seven goals before the team lost painfully to the Mexican finalist on penalties.
Although returning home early, Mukarama was able to win the bronze award for the third best player in the tournament.
After her formidable performance at the World Cup in South America, the student of the University of Development is under the radar of some professional football teams in the United States.
Currently, she plays for Northern Ladies in the National Women's League in Ghana.
Mukarama was also awarded by CAF and was quickly nominated for the title of Africa Footballer of the Year, won by South African striker Christina Kgatlana.
