Is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suitable for a full-time job? Ryan Giggs shares his honest opinion

The holiday season did not go well for Manchester United after their 3-1 defeat of Liverpool at Anfield. The tension was on the rise and the manager, Jose Mourinho, was leaving Old Trafford the next morning.

It is very difficult to have a good manager in the middle of the season. Manchester United has therefore trusted theirs in these difficult times. They put Ole Gunner Solskjaer as director and, to be honest, he exceeded expectations at this stage. He has won almost every game of Manchester United. The only game he lost was played in the last 16 of the Champions League last week against a very powerful PSG team. Apart from that, he had only one match that he did not win and in this match too, Manchester United came back from behind to grab hold of A point.

Even though Ole Solskjaer has been appointed interim manager for the rest of the season, some think he's able to do everything in his power to get Manchester United to the top. Solskjaer has been a loyal servant of this legendary club. Nobody will ever forget his winning goal in the extension of the 1999 UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich. But does he have what it takes to be a great coach? While some experts think that Manchester United would do better to find someone who has already proven itself, some think that Solskjaer is the perfect solution for Manchester United. And Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is one of them.

Giggs has full confidence in Ole. He thinks the Norwegian has the temperament to do the job and he knows the club better than the rest of the managers that Manchester United has named since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure. David Moyes was a complete failure in the biggest stage when the star was at Manchester United. Giggs himself saved the embarrbadment of Man United while being the acting manager. Louis Van Gaal changed the offensive football that was the plethora of Manchester United and brought a boring football that nevertheless allowed him to win. Then, the introduction of a confirmed champion to Jose Mourinho was the change that Manchester United longed for. But Mourinho's defensive mentality had not brought the victories they needed and he was shown the door after losing control of the locker room. Meanwhile, Manchester United have spent a fortune competing with rival Manchester City for the Premier League title. But these panic purchases have not been successful.

"When you have someone who knows the club, who is tactically astute, clearly has the players and supporters on board, it gives you a lot of momentum. There will be obstacles on the road, but most fans imagine what it could do with the money spent in recent years, "said Giggs in an interview with The Guardian.

With Mourinho, the team seemed upset that the manager had lost control of the box and that the players were unhappy with Mourinho's defensive strategies. But Ole Solskjaer brought smiles back to the locker room. With a happy team supporting their manager, the results are not lacking.

"Ole did a fantastic job. He gave players freedom and also played tactically well. The trust is huge. He has a smile on his face, "added Giggs.

At the same time, the Welsh legend also believes that Manchester United should not rush anything and that it must plan appropriately to win the Premier League again. The reconstruction process takes time and for the case of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola needed a lot of money. Giggs wants Manchester United to follow the same blue footprints.

Anyway, many legends can come to support Ole Gunnar Solskjaer publicly, but news from Old Trafford is different. Manchester United tries very aggressively to bring Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham Hotspur. Pochettino worked very well with the limited budget available to the Spurs and kept the title challenge alive for them without any summer or winter dedication. If Manchester United manages to get their hands on Pochettino, he will be responsible for the show at Old Trafford despite an excellent performance from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of Manchester United.
