Andy Appiah-Kubi, Deputy Minister of Railroad Development
Andy Appiah-Kubi, deputy minister of railway development, expressed his disappointment to DSP Samuel Azugu for his performance during his appearance before the Emile Short Commission on Monday.
The Azugu DSP, who headed the SWAT team in the La-Bawaleshie constituency during the partial election of Ayawaso West Wuogon, was questioned for more than two hours when he took turn at the 3rd meeting of the Commission.
Among the many questions he was asked, he explained why his men wore a mask when they stormed the polling station. Even though he did not know why they wore the mask, the SWAT team wore it often when they wanted to disguise themselves or when they want to avoid mosquito bites.
In this regard, the deputy minister, who is also a member of the Asante-Akim North constituency in the Ashanti region, said: "The answers he gave show that he does not even know what he does; he must receive more training. I felt so embarrbaded to listen to him; give an answer to why men wore a mask. . . there might be a reason for doing so but I do not know why he was giving such a lame excuse; that they were trying to prevent mosquitoes. . . "
Mr. Appiah Kubi was speaking on Clbad FM Tuesday morning.
