Tottenham Hotspur Ladies may have been knocked out of the SSE Women's Team Cup this weekend by Manchester City – but their goal now is to win the women's FA Super League promotion.

The Spurs occupy the top of the FA women's championship – five points ahead of Manchester United, who have two games to play – and aim to strengthen their grip on first place Wednesday night.

They face a team from Leicester who is firmly in the middle of the table with six wins in 15 games. Tottenham also won the opposite match 3-0 when both teams met in September.

"It's another cup final for us," said director Karen Hills. "The return to the league will be tight, but the girls will be in shape.

"I'm sure the girls will be fully focused and ready to go back on Wednesday."

The Spurs have won 12 of their 14 league games this season.

They are undefeated in the league since the beginning of December – they lost 6-1 at home against Durham.
