The state of Telangana is experiencing an alarming increase in the number of cases of swine flu. At least 496 people have been tested positive for seasonal infectious flu this year.
The Indian Meteorological Department has attributed climate change to the disturbances caused by the West, combined with high-altitude cyclone traffic in the northwestern regions of the country.
According to several studies, the H1N1 virus spreads faster in cold weather because it hardens the surface, helping it survive longer.
