Slick Woods celebrates the release of his mother's prison

She was incarcerated for 17 years.

Slick Woods cried with joy after finding his mother after being separated for nearly two decades. She shared the good news on social media with a photo of the smiling mother-daughter duo. See the picture of happy family after the jump.

"As a gang member, everyone expected that she was not the best of mothers," Woods said in an interview with Elle Magazine back in 2018. "But my mother was very handy with me when I was a kid.My mom read me in the belly."

"And she is proud because she knows everyone was expecting me to be exactly what she was," continued the model. "She went to jail when I was 19. I became a model at 19. And I can take care of my mother when she comes out."

Woods was raised by her grandmother as early as four years of age after her mother was sentenced to jail time for manslaughter. His education was not easy and the young model finally became homeless and spent some time in jail. It has become another statistic. Fortunately, Slick was able to choose a different trajectory and became one of the most recognizable fashion figures.

"I was in a place where I did not believe anything, so I was sensitive to evil energies," Woods said in an interview to E.S. Magazine in 2018. "I'm so easily turned in. It's not something I'm proud of," she continued. "And when everyone tells you that you're going to be like your mother and you're behind bars …"
