President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo received a charter on Ghana Beyond Aid. It describes the roadmap for Ghana's determination to become an autonomous country.

President Akufo-Addo said the document reinforces this orientation and would also serve as "a guide to the work of all state institutions: the executive, the legislature, the judiciary, institutions and social institutions. ".
The Ghana Beyond Aid agenda is essentially about mobilizing and sensitizing Ghanaians that "no one would come from nowhere to develop Ghana for themselves other than the Ghanaians themselves," he said.
Agreements with people outside the country are intended to help us "achieve the fundamental goals of our country's development, we will make progress when we take responsibility for our own actions and we will lead in a fruitful way". President explained.
He said that "the document will also serve as a guide to apply the slogan" [Ghana Beyond Aid] to make it meaningful in the lives of 30 million Ghanaians in Ghana and those outside Ghana. "
The President stated that he hoped that Parliament would have access to the document as soon as possible, in order to allow the Assembly to debate and approve the strategy in order to give it a national character, which would guide all interventions aimed at making the country autonomous.
The document must be tabled in Parliament for deliberations that would lead it to become a national policy document that would guide the actions of the government, as well as those of the various stakeholders in the country.
This will be not only a slogan, but also "a guide to the country's development process, as it will be to apply it so that it has meaning in the lives of the 30 million Ghanaians and of those who are outside the country … "he said.
He observed that the awareness created on the continent over the last four decades had clearly shown that Africa could only meet its development challenges when it freed itself from dependence on help.
The President said Africa should use its own resources and rely more on appropriate local policies to unlock the continent's economic potential.
Prime Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, who chairs the Charter Committee, told the President that the strategic document reflected the collective contributions of 30 institutions.
He said that the preparation of the document had taken a lot of space and hoped that this one (the document) would give direction to the vision of a Ghana beyond help.
Committee members include Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta; Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Minister of Planning, Professor Gyan Baffour, and Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama.
The others are from the Trades Union Congress, the Private Enterprise Foundation, the Ghana National Teachers Association and the Ghana Industries Association.
