Bolton Wanderers is 23rd in the championship, three points down on safety
The Polish champions, Bolton Wanderers, will appear in the High Court on 20 March, following HM Revenue & Customs' request for liquidation.
The petition, which was filed on February 4, was released Wednesday.
Meanwhile, owner Ken Anderson said in a statement the heads of terms were agreed and discussions were underway with a consortium to buy the club.
Anderson said in January that he "was doing everything possible" to find a buyer at his fans' protests.
The reports of a Turkish buyer and a northwestern consortium backed by Russian investors have been described as "pure fiction" by Anderson.
"Unfortunately, a number of people like to show that they know more than they really know and speculate about what's going on." In general, this has nothing to do with the truth and the reality of what's really going on, "said Anderson.
"The facts are that there is a consortium with which heads of delegation have been agreed upon and discussions are going on.
"Last week, several other consortia that all signed confidentiality agreements attracted increased interest and discussions are also underway with them.
"All that has been said or written can be ignored because it is total fiction."
