Odd reason why people can not stop watching the video of a man shaving his balls

If you've visited YouTube recently, you may have come across a system called ASMR.

The letters mean Sensory Autonomic Meridian Response and the phenomenon sees people making videos containing certain sounds and certain movements that can create a pleasant sensation of "tingling".

These videos are often used to help viewers fall asleep or relax during a particularly stressful time.

Responding to the success of these videos, the Lynx men's grooming brand has created a range of ASMR tutorials to help men take care of their bodies – and hundreds of people have already given them a watch.

Lynx has done a series of ASMR shaving tutorials

These ASMR "shavetorials" focus specifically on three areas of the male form – the chest, legs and balls.

The original videos are meant to explore "the sensory experience of body hair removal" with a good dose of humor.

The series sees the host, Matthew, wearing a white dress, before undressing and taking people into the shaving process of different areas, using the 2-in-1 shower foam of the brand.

Microphones are installed around the bathroom to capture all the sounds: whispers, tapping, foam spouted from a can, soap suds and running water.

Host Matthew shows men how to shave their chest, legs and balls

In a video, Matthew uses a pair of coconuts to show how to shave his "bag of beans".

It says: "Depending on the fluffy texture of your walnut wig, you may want to cut it before you start.

"Are these bullets that I cut earlier, are not they beautiful?

"Gently pull on the bottom of your backpack so that everything is well taught.Take a clean shower razor, not the one you would use on your face."

The videos are meant to be relaxing

He adds, "You must be very slow and sweet, you do not want to risk future generations."

Lynx says its new playful campaign is designed to appeal to modern young men looking for grooming tips and ASMR fans.

Claire Fynn, Skin Cleansing Brand Specialist at Lynx, explained: "The ASMR is a huge trend right now, so many people find it relaxing and soothing.

"More and more men are looking for tricks on grooming, so we've created a series of lightweight" Shower and Shave "tutorials.

"We hope the guys will find them useful, while giving them the confidence to feel good too."
