Three Lyon players were robbed while their club played against Barcelona in the Champions League, continuing a recent pattern for players and officials of major French clubs.

Police said they had been called Wednesday at 0:45 am at the Memphis Depay aggressor, in the Lyons suburb of Ecully. The thieves had forced a window and taken goods, mainly fashion items, of undetermined value.

Depay had already been robbed last September, while Lyon was playing in Nice. On this occasion, a property of more than one million euros was taken.

Midfielders Lucas Tousart and Pape Cheikh Diop, both out of the Lyonnais bench in the second period of draw, have returned to their home in the suburbs to the same unpleasant surprise.

Thieves broke a door in the basement of Tousart's house in Chaponost and took a multimedia bag. There were also signs that thieves were trying to get into his car, the local police said.

Burglars broke into Sheikh's terrace in Limonest and stole jewelry and designer clothes.

Officials and players in Marseille and Paris have also been the target of games in recent months.

The home of Marseille President Jacques-Henri Eyraud was robbed on the night of February 8 while he was in Dijon watching the team in Ligue 1.

The home of striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been robbed twice: once while PSG was playing in November and another in December by burglars who had run away ringing the alarm.

PSG captain Thiago Silva was robbed in December while playing at Parc des Princes.

In December 2017, the Paris apartment of Unai Emery, former coach of PSG, was stolen while his team was playing against Strasbourg.
