Fainusatu Naomi Abdulai fears that some players will become pregnant and do not hang up football
Fainusatu Naomi Abdulai, team leader of Prisons Ladies FC, expressed her enthusiasm after the GFA Standards Committee confirmed the introduction of the special competition for women's clubs.
An agreement between the Standards Committee and the clubs of the National Women's League was concluded on Tuesday 19 February 2019 for the launch of the special competition.
Speaking on Happy FM Wednesday morning, the club's team leader based in Sunyani revealed that some players were indulging in social vices leading to pregnancy due to the suspension of football in the country.
"Inactive football poses a lot of problems. Some players are engaged in many social vices because they do not play actively, so we are excited about the return of football, "she said.
"We thank the standards committee for having decided to organize this special competition so that we can be active again and fit"
"Two of our players are very pregnant and one is pregnant but is not visible.
"One of them is married and the others are engaged, so I'm not saying that pregnancy and childbirth are not a good thing, but because they are adults"
"I think if we play football, they will not get pregnant now. They could actually decide to give birth later, "she added.
The kickoff of the competition is scheduled for March 9, 2019, on different sites.
