Millwall indicted for alleged racist chants during England Cup win over Everton

Millwall was indicted by the Football Association after racist chants were heard in his England Cup match with Everton.

Fans used a derogatory racist term towards the Pakistani community during the match at The Den.

The songs followed the clashes with the rival fans before the return leg of the fourth round on 26 January. Millwall has now been charged by the FA for chants.

A statement from the FA reads as follows: "It is alleged that the club has not ensured that its spectators behave in a methodical manner and abstain from using offensive words and / or or insulting, which include a reference to race and / or ethnicity Draw for the England Cup vs. Everton on January 26, 2019. "An independent commission will decide what sanctions Millwall may impose. The club has promised to ban lifelong supporters if they are found guilty of such abuse.

After the game against Everton, it was stated in a statement: "The Millwall Football Club is aware, and extremely disappointed, of a video broadcast online that features alleged racist songs.

"As is customary after incidents of this type, the club will work with all relevant authorities during investigations and will seek to identify those involved.

"The club would like to express its gratitude and pride to the vast majority of its fans who have provided exceptional support to their team throughout the game and who deserve a memorable victory.

"They should be able to do it without getting tarnished by behavior they would find odious.

"The Millwall Football Club has a long and proud anti-discrimination worksheet and continues to work tirelessly, alongside the authorities, to eliminate all forms of gambling."

Chelsea is facing the threat of a partial closure of the stadium or the ban on traveling fans after anti-Semitic chants have been heard in the Europa League. The songs that took place during the match against MOL Vidi and the club are expected to hear UEFA's judgment on 28 February.
