The family's world has "collapsed" after the stomachache of a six-year-old girl turned out to be a stage four cancer.

Little Aaliyah Road had been suffering from symptoms for two days before the disease was diagnosed.

The "beautiful" girl from Wrexham, Wales, was taken to hospital last Friday after complaining of stomach pains.

Joined by her mother, Louisa Jones, she underwent examinations that revealed a mbad on her right kidney, reports North Wales Live.

In a devastating way, it was a cancer.

"We both have cancer – and that reinforced our love"

Doctors hope that Aaliyah Road from Wrexham has a good chance of surviving

The student from Gwersyllt Primary School was transported from the Wrexham Maelor Hospital to Liverpool Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

In a few hours, she was undergoing chemotherapy.

But after further tests, parents Louisa, 29, and Matthew Road learned that the disease had spread from their daughter's kidney to her lungs and liver.

Despite this heartbreaking news, doctors hope that the little girl attending Ysgol Heulfan's school has a good chance of surviving.

Her 51-year-old grandmother Paula Jones of Cefn y Bedd said "her whole world has collapsed" following her granddaughter's diagnosis.

"She was absolutely fine until last Wednesday when she started having a stomach ache," she told North Wales Live.

"We only thought it was a stomach virus but on Friday she was already hurting too much, so her mother took her to the hospital.

"It was at that moment that they scanned her and found a mbad on her right kidney.

"They sent her directly into an ambulance at Alder Hey, where they inserted a central line so that she could start chemotherapy the same day.

"Everything happened so fast.

"We do not know how long it has been, the doctors said it could have been weeks or months."

She added, "In most cases, we know that it is spreading very quickly, but we are confident that she will beat it."

The doctors diagnosed Aaliyah with Wilm syndrome – a form of kidney cancer that mainly affects children under the age of seven.

She is now in stage four of the disease, which means that the tumor has spread to other parts of her body. It is likely that the right kidney will be removed after treatment.

However, Ms. Jones said that Aliyah had an 80% chance of defeating cancer.

She added, "We are all trying to stay together for the moment and we pray for the best.

"Our entire world collapsed when we heard the news – it's so amazing that we have not yet had time to deal with what happened."

"It's so shocking that it can happen to a six-year-old girl. It's hard to think about what it will have to go through in the next few months.

"It's like being trapped in a bad dream and you just want someone to wake you up." I hoped that they would turn around to say that they were deceived. "

Aaliyah will now undergo chemotherapy treatment over the next six weeks which, hopefully, will get rid of cancer. If this does not succeed, doctors can then offer a radiotherapy treatment.

Alder Hey in Liverpool is one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK

Her family has now launched a GoFundMe fundraising page in order to raise enough cash to buy a dog at Aaliyeah once she's better and help finance out-of-the-way expenses for Liverpool.

Until now, more than £ 1,400 has been collected.

Ms. Jones added, "Aaliyah's strength is incredible, she's in a very good mood right now, she's been so brave so far.

"She's such a beautiful little girl, she has a gold heart and she's so cheeky.

"She's so smart and friendly and loves playing with her LOL dolls, she's just a normal six-year-old girl.

"Both her mom and dad were great, taking turns staying with her every night, and her brother, Blake, also stayed with her.

"Everyone was so supportive, we had people who offered us rides to Alder Hey and we received so many donations for a raffle – someone left a bag full of gifts at my door." Another day.

"We all took a very big train. It is only when such a tragic event occurs that you realize how good people can be."
