Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah and his badistant, Ibrahim Tanko, tour Europe to monitor Ghanaian players overseas as part of preparations for the Africa Cup. Nations.

According to sources, Kwesi Appiah will also take this opportunity to choose a camp base in one of the European countries where the Black Stars will have their pre-tournament camp before the tournament.

Spain has been cited as a preferred destination because of its proximity and climate similar to that of Egypt.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Kwesi Appiah could visit Kevin-Prince Boateng of Barcelona and Sulley Muntari on this tour.

Standards Committee spokesman Dan Kwaku Yeboah confirmed the point in an interview with Asempa FM: "Kwesi Appiah is going on a trip to Europe to check out the Black Stars base camp and watch the players.

"It's true, Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah and Chair of the Standards Committee, Dr. Kofi Amoah, want the team to be well prepared because we do not have the time to plan.

So this time, they want to do something different. That's why Kwesi Appiah and Ibrahim Tanko have started preparations for the CAN because we have no problem preparing this time.

"Kwesi Appiah and Ibrahim Tanko are going to two places to check which place is right for their campsite before the tournament," he added.

The Black Stars have a game to play in the playoffs against Kenya at home next month to decide who will lead the group.

Ghana has not won the Africa Cup of Nations since 1982 and has participated in two finals over the last decade.
