The 4th grader from Ohio dies after strep throat and flu

MASON, OH (WOWK) – A fourth-grade student in Ohio died Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest after a bout of flu and strep throat, said Mason City Schools at WKRC, an affiliate of CBS.

The schools of the city of Mason published Wednesday evening a declaration with the WKRC:

Our Comet family is mourning tonight after hearing that one of our fourth year students, Sable Gibson, has pbaded away tonight … Our heart is with the Gibson family in this very difficult time. We also raise all clbadmates, teachers and Sable support staff.
School officials are urging everyone in Western Row to wear Sable's favorite color pink on Thursday to show their love and support for Sable's friends and family.

Western Row Elementary will also have additional advisors available.

In his statement, Mason City Schools shared a link to suggestions on what parents can say when their children die.
