Rashford, meanwhile, took the opportunity to lead the United line with both hands, scoring seven goals in his last 10 appearances since being played in his favorite position.

Higginbotham thinks that Rashford's form and fluidity during the attack could leave Lukaku's surplus at Old Trafford again this summer.

"It would be a huge step back if Rashford were to step back after what he did," he told the debate.

"There is a dilemma for United in the summer," he added. "Lukaku is usually the No.1 attacker, the main man, but is it the right time for Rashford to be United No. 9?

"[Should he be] whoever plays in all major games week after week, or is he second striker and he fills the flanks? I think he's ready.

"Only Ryan Giggs has recorded 100 games for United faster than Rashford, and when you think of the players who have played United, that alone is incredible.

"Who is ready for the job and better than Rashford? There was someone there, he would get 100 million pounds."
