RALEIGH, NC – Health officials in North Carolina said 13 people had died from flu in the state last week, bringing the death toll to 68 today. hui.
The NS Department of Health and Social Services. also announced Thursday that three additional deaths in previous weeks had been attributed to the flu.
Up to now, 48 of the victims were aged 65 or older. Thirteen were in the 50 to 64 age group and seven in the 25 to 49 age group.
According to officials, the latest report may not reflect the total number of deaths from influenza in that state, as some cases are neither reported nor diagnosed.
For the same period of the previous influenza season, officials reported 212 deaths.
