The victims were all mourners who had gone to the morgue to retrieve the body of their deceased.
According to DAILY GUIDE, about 17 people were killed in a terrible accident in the Eastern Region.
The fatal accident occurred yesterday in a small town called Asuokow near Asamankese around 5 pm.
An eyewitness told DAILY GUIDE that the victims were all mourners who had gone to the morgue of the Asamankese government hospital to retrieve a boy 's body. 17 years old dead to be buried.
They were found in an open Rhino truck and on their arrival at Asuokow, the driver apparently could not control the brakes and crashed them all.
DAILY GUIDE learned that even pbaders-by were not spared by the truck that struck a number of them.
About 30 people were packed in the bucket of the truck and, according to the eyewitness, in addition to the dead, many others were reported to have been injured to varying degrees.
