The country's education system should provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be self-employed, rather than relying on the government, said the president of the Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET), Mr. Prosper Afetsi, said.
This, he said, is due to the fact that the current system continues to educate the mbades looking for a job instead of training them to create jobs.
The unemployment situation, he said, is worsening due to the lack of proper education, the choice of career pathways without knowing their purpose in life and the fact that their parents are forcing their children to follow programs that do not interest them.

Mr Afetsi said this during a vocational guidance program held at Anlo Afiadenyigba High School in the Volta Region for the purpose of candidates who are preparing for the end-of-life examination. Secondary School in West Africa (WASSCE) and Basic School (BECE).
Candidates from the Nyravase Community Basic School in Afiadenyigba and the St. Croix Preparatory School, Weta, participated in the program alongside WASSCE candidates from Anlo Afiadenyigba High School.
The FOGET program was the second, after holding a similar program for more than 800 BECE candidates in Area Five of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) in Accra.

S addressing candidates on the subject: "Unleash the greatness that is in you to have an impact on the generations," Mr. Afetsi advised them to identify, among other things, their pbadion, they loved to do and God's purpose for their lives.
"Everyone was created by God to accomplish a goal. We are not all created to become doctors, lawyers, nurses, etc.
So you must be yourself so that what your Creator has put in you, you can achieve it to help humanity, "he said.
The president of FOGET told students that if they were trying to be someone or to live the dream of someone else, "then you will miss the area you were supposed to be ". You are as you are because of what the Creator has created for you to do or perform here on earth. "
Mr. Afetsi noted that no talent was better than the other nor more meaningful.
Goal
God's purpose for their lives, he said, has always been accompanied by natural abilities, and warned that "you will have a problem or be unemployed if you do not know your purpose".
