Members of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have been trying to put out a fire in the Makola Mall since Friday morning.

Since then, they have used a smoke extractor to fully access the basement to fight the fire.
"The fire continues to come from the basement of the shop, we are trying to extinguish it but the problem is that the shop has only one entrance," said to the media the Public Relations Officer of the Makola Fire Station, DOII, DOII.
He further noted that a taxi driver had gone to the train station to inform him of the morning fire.
