Emmanuel Kojo Jones-Mensah, business magnate from Ghana
It was a moment of pride for Ghana, when the young gem of the business world was mentioned among the speakers of the 21st Annual Business Conference in Africa, on February 15 and 16, 2019 at the University of Harvard.
Ghana's business magnate, Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones-Mensah, one of four speakers, gave an insightful presentation on why real estate remains a flourishing business in Africa with all the enormous benefits it brings.
Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones-Mensah, CEO of Empire Domus and General Manager of Empire Concrete, said at a conference that the need to strategically industrialize Africa to create a more autonomous and sustainable continent.
He also stressed that, given the increase in the African population, the number of young entrepreneurs entering the real estate sector will be considerable. He mentioned consulting, management, financial, manufacturing and tertiary opportunities in the real estate sector in Africa.
He recalled that Ghana is developing and how important it is to secure its future. In doing so, we can start by producing and manufacturing most of the raw materials used in construction and in other sectors as well. This will help reduce the high costs of importing building materials and finishes.
Mr. Jones-Mensah congratulated Ghana's President Nana Akuffo Addo for pushing the agenda "Ghana Beyond Aid" and said Africa should structure its development in the sense of this agenda.
He also highlighted some challenges in the real estate field, pointing out that land disputes and the high cost of financing were a major concern.
Mr Jones-Mensah supported other speakers on the need for Africa to meet its challenges and work to make it a better place.
The company's magnate concluded his statement with a keen warning that there was a need to create a vast market movement from the mere sale of natural resources to active industrial activities.
The conference attracted many Ghanaian students and professionals from across the United States, with four panellists, namely; Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones – CEO of the Domus Empire of Menens, Empire Concrete Ltd. (Ghana), Nana Kwame Bediako, CEO of Kwarleyz Group, Petronia City (Ghana), Mustapha Njie, CEO of TAF Africa Global (The Gambia), Saul Frazier, CEO of Global Properties Africa (The Gambia).
