Teacher. Joshua Alabi, NDC flag bearer full of hope
The campaign leader of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), Professor Joshua Alabi, said the process had been "severely compromised" just hours away from the much-anticipated presidential primary.
According to the team, "the seals of two candidates that the EC and the NDC affixed on the bags containing the ballots were broken before arriving at the various destinations of the regions".
He adds that "in the central region, for example, NDC regional election officials ignored the protests of agents of badbadination candidates who observed the anomalies. They then wrapped the ballots in brown envelopes and sent them to various constituencies. These and many other offenses have been identified and there is evidence to that effect. "
About 280,000 NDC delegates are expected to vote to elect a flag bearer to represent the party in the upcoming 2020 elections.
In all, seven aspirants will compete for the flag bearer.
Earlier, party vice-secretary Peter Boamah Otukonor said all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure a regular, free and fair election, the outcome of which would be acceptable to all.
He told the Daily Graphic: "The party is ready for Saturday's elections. All the necessary party arrangements have been put in place. The EC is also ready. Saturday we will have our elections.
"We have already met the Inspector General of Police, Mr. David Asante-Appeatu, and we have settled the formalities that would deploy enough police personnel for Saturday's elections."
