The National Democratic Congress has taken note of President Akufo-Addo's appeal to leaders of the NDC and NPP to meet and discuss ways to voluntarily dissolve the activities of the groups. self-defense of political parties.
We are gratified that President Akufo-Addo finally acknowledged openly that the existence and activities of private and political militias posed a serious threat to the security of that country.
Although we recognize that some NDC members are behind the creation and operation of private vigilante groups, the NDC, as a corporation, does not own, sponsor or subscribe to any political vigilance group. . Indeed, the NDC does not believe in political violence and has always relied on Ghana's police to ensure its security, both in government and out of government.
