Marca has a big claim Friday night about Monchi's potential transfer to Arsenal this summer.
The sports director of AS Roma has been continuously badociated with the Premier League club. It was reported in Spain that Arsenal wanted to strengthen its base of Spanish rulers, and Monchi would be an important part of it.
In Italy, it was clearly indicated that the exit from Rome was considered possible, the time of Monchi at the Serie A club not being as good as planned for him or for Rome.
Marca says that Monchi will leave Rome on June 30th. This will be the end of his contract, so there would be no compensation to pay for Arsenal.
The idea of the Gunners, if they ended up by appointing the sports director, would be to pair him with Unai Emery, because they were already together in Seville.
Monchi has carved out a solid reputation within the Spanish club which has seen him linked to several big teams, including Barcelona.
There is no affirmation of negotiations or details of a potential contract, the Spanish newspaper explaining that Arsenal is eager to give Emery the same environment he had in Seville.
