Total Dhamaal open to largely negative critics of film critics. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee awarded the film one out of every five stars. He wrote: "Total Dhamaal is total duh: a cuddly hug that goes from one brainless gag to another while a group of adults will stop at nothing to outdo themselves and make fools of themselves. "
Total Dhamaal is the third installment of the Dhamaal series. The film was directed by Indra Kumar and was produced jointly by Fox Star studios, Ajay Devgn Films, Ashok Thakeria, Indra Kumar, Sri Adhikari brothers and Anand Pandit.
Like the previous parts, the third part also features Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi, while Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Boman Irani and Esha Gupta are the new additions to the Dhamaal family.
