Presidential primaries of the NDC: remarkable personalities having voted

Notable personalities in the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] On Saturday, voters voted in different polling stations as the party elected a presidential candidate for the 2020 elections.

On Saturday, February 23, the NDC holds its presidential primaries in 275 constituencies across the country.

The vote is to elect one of seven people, including former president John Dramani Mahama, who hopes to lead the party in the 2020 presidential elections.

The polls, which are conducted by the Electoral Commission, have a Ghanaian police force providing security.

ProF. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman was in the constituency of Cape Coast North to vote, but unfortunately his name was not found in the registry. She went to Cape Coast South to check there too.

Former Minister of Communication, Edward Omani Boamah was among the 700 or so delegates who voted in the New Juaben North constituency in the Eastern Region.

Prof Joshua Alabi also voted in Krowor, Greater Accra region. When he arrived at the polling station on Saturday morning, a search in the registry revealed that his name was missing. After waiting more than 20 minutes, EC officials contacted party officials who finally gave the go-ahead for his name to be registered before he was allowed to vote.

The Deputy for Banda and Deputy Chief Whip Ahmed Ibrahim voted in the constituency of banda where 265 out of 365 delegates have already voted.

NDC First National President, Sofo Azourka voted in the Tamale North constituency.
