The Ridge Royal Hotel, one of the best luxury hotels in Ghana, located in the central region of the country, officially launched its hotel services with the commitment to contribute to the growth of the tourism and hospitality sector in Ghana.
Royal Ridge, formerly known as Cape Coast Catering Rest House, has been in existence for over two and a half decades and is part of the history of the people of Cape Coast.
Catering Rest House was built during the colonial period as a Guest House for missionary civil servants around Cape Coast, and also served as a place of relaxation for the general public. The Queen of England spent a night in these same premises during her visit in 1961.
The hotel, launched on February 21, 2019, now offers exceptional services to its customers and stakeholders.
Mr. Kwame Gyasi, Chief of the Central Region of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, said: "Royal Ridge is launched at a historic moment as part of" the year of return, "where we expect our brothers and sisters of the African family to return to Ghana, to unite with us and develop their roots. This indicates that strategic preparations are underway in the hospitality sector to welcome our brothers and sisters and put them at home.
He said, "The existence of the Ridge Royal Hotel is a guarantee of comfort and luxury that everyone would like to live outside their home, whether for work or vacation."
According to the chairman of the Ridge Royal Hotel, Mr. Ernest Asamoah, also known as Nana Appeanin Kwaframoa II, Krontihene of Akyem Awisa, "Our mission is to improve the lives of our guests, badociates, stakeholders and the community by creating an unparalleled conference, leisure and vacation experience. Whether you are visiting for work or pleasure, our facility and badociates are up to the task. It's not just a place to rest your head, it's an experience of the best in hospitality that will leave an indelible mark on your memory. "
He added, "We are very excited about this year's Heritage Month celebrations, especially as we are in one of the key regions in the country's history.
With this year known as "The Year of Return," to mark the 400th anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade, we have developed strategies to ensure that our operations run smoothly to welcome and secure a good holiday for tourists. I must say that we are more than willing to support all planned activities to commemorate the month. We therefore encourage our brothers and sisters of the African family to return home to invest and help develop their roots.
