Government Unveils Many Activities to Mark Independence Day Celebrations

Vice Minister of Information, Pius Enam-Hadzide, said the special guest of honor at the event was Niger's President, Mahamadou Issoufou.

Speaking to reporters in Accra on Sunday, 2019, he said the theme of this year's celebration was "Celebrating Peace and Unity."

President Akufo-Addo during his speech on the state of the nation to Parliament last Thursday announced that the 62North Dakota The celebrations of national independence will be held in the regional capital of north Tamale at Aliu Mahama Stadium on March 6.

The Tamale celebrations will therefore be historic, especially because it will be the first time that national celebrations will be held outside the Greater Accra region.

"However, the government is optimistic that moving the celebration to Tamale will do a lot of good for northerners. This will not only boost the local economy, but also serve as an opportunity for the region to showcase its rich and diverse cultural heritage while seeking new development projects. At the same time, the National Celebration Planning Committee unveiled the anniversary logo for this year's celebration.

The logo which is the figure 62 with the symbol "Adinkra" as "Bi nkabi", namely "one does not bite the other", resonates with the theme of peace and life in harmony.
