Arkush Hub: Browns, Jets, Raiders and Packers move the NFL free agent market

[ad_1]

For all players wishing to send the Cleveland Brown directly to the AFC title game to face the Raiders and avoid the rest of the season, or possibly get an order for the champions' hats and t-shirts. AFC East for the Jets, or maybe you think the Packers are a good deal with a Super Bowl bet in Vegas, I have an edifying story.

The Jaguars of Jacksonville.

Just two seasons ago, the Jaguars – thinking they're about to argue – have become independent teammates, spending more than $ 100 million on Calais Campbell, AJ Bouye and Barry Church negotiating for Brandon Albert and going from the worst first in AFC South, then until the AFC title match in New England, to finally win a Super Bowl victory.

Following this success, the Jags doubled their last offseason and spent another small fortune on Andrew Norwell, Donte Moncrief, D.J. Hayden and Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

This allowed them to find the bottom of their division, a 5-11 football team and one of the worst in the league, to start from scratch.

Jacksonville is just the most recent example of what it is wrong to think that division, conference and Super Bowl titles can be bought through free agencies or blockbusters.

The teams you can almost always count on in January (New England, Seattle, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, etc.) have almost never been hard sellers.

Is the Browns a more talented football team than it was a week or two ago? Absolutely.

Are they a better team? It remains to be seen.

Rookie head coach Freddie Kitchens has never been head coach at any level and last season was his first as coordinator. Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks has just been disastrous and has been named head coach in Arizona. Will OBJ and Kareem Hunt be new men in Cleveland or the same problems they were in New York and Kansas City?

John Dorsey did a great job in changing Cleveland's alignment, but knowing if he built a competitor is still a big question mark.

However, I will make this prediction: I can not say that the Giants will eventually earn the trade OBJ because I do not know what they will do first and third players they have acquired in the project next month, but I believe there is no chance that the Browns win it.

Why? I see no reason to believe that Beckham would be happier, better teammate or less distracted than he was in New York.

Which brings us to the Jets. Le'Veon Bell not only abandoned his teammates and thrown close to $ 15 million to get a better deal than he was ever going to get.

In 2015, he was suspended twice for substance abuse and a torn ligament in the right knee.

He also goes behind one of the best offensive lines of the NFL to one of the most mediocre.

Kelechi Osemele and C.J. Mosley are really interesting additions, but the Jets still face a chasm between them and the Patriots, and the Bell and Mosley contracts could haunt them in a year or two.

I understand what the Raiders are trying to do, and I'm not afraid to give three and five for Antonio Brown, but his new contract makes no sense.

This is another player who has absolutely thrown his team under the bus for reasons that remain totally obscure, and everything suggests that he will do it again in Oakland the first time the mind touches him.

The Packers do not look like the Browns, the Jets and the Raiders, all of whom have faced one of the biggest cases in the league. Adrian Amos, Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith have all paid too much. They are all promising, but not necessarily better than the players they will replace and have never managed to reach the level desired by their new contract.

This whole story is fun, but we should always remember that it is often the teams that do the most in free agencies that benefit the least.
