Jason Donovan returns to the London stage in a musical he is very familiar with – Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
The actor will join the latest production of the musical Andrew Lloyd Webber, who will visit the London Palladium this summer for an eleven-week season.
Except that this time, he does not play Joseph – the role he entered in 1991 – but rather Pharoah –
He joined a cast that already includes Sheridan Smith as a narrator – and revealed how pleased he was to be back in the series, albeit in another capacity.
"One never knows the extent of a moment before it becomes a memory, and what a moment it was for me," Donovan said.
"Joseph was a pioneer in 1991, and what a pleasure to return to the prestigious Palladium scene and be part of it with a brand new cast in this redesigned 2019 production.
"I can not wait to give Pharaoh a new life and I'm so relieved he does not have to wear a loincloth!"
Donovan's previous career in the series also earned him a big hit on the charts with his version of the 1991 song Any Dream Will Do.
