NEW YORK (AP) – Amazon has removed from its website books promoting "curative treatments" for autism, the last big company to try to limit the number of false information related to autism and the false notion that it would be caused by vaccines.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says there is no cure for autism spectrum disorders, but only drugs can help some people function better. He also says that there is no link between vaccines and autism.
A spokeswoman for Amazon.com Inc. confirmed that the books were no longer available but did not answer any other questions.
Last week, Facebook announced that it would hide the results of its research on groups that spread misinformation about vaccines that cause autism. It also plans to reject similar ads.
The removal of Amazon's books has been reported for the first time by NBC News.
