DKB will launch into the "demo" if "dumsor" does not end next week

Ghanaian comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, dubbed DKB in the showbiz, has issued a week-long ultimatum to the Power Distribution Services (PDS) to repair the recent erratic power source, also known as "dumsor ", confronted with his anger.

Some areas of the country have experienced blackouts twice this week.

Some fear that the recent failures will mean the return of the dreaded dumsor that occurred in the country about five years ago.

In a video on Facebook, the comedian said that he could not afford to buy gasoline for his generator every day due to dumsor.

"We thought the ECG was horrible. The new one is Proper Dumsor or Permanent Dumsor. I do not even know what his name is. 50 cedis gasoline already pbaded to the generator, I am now about to buy another. Am I supposed to use my money to buy fuel?

"Honestly, if this night goes on for a week, no one should mind if I do the dumsor demonstration again. Because I do not belong to any political party, so if you make a mistake, I will beat you. I do not have to apologize to anyone, "he said.

On May 16, 2015, Yvonne Nelson spearheaded the #DumsorMustStop campaign that brought together celebrities such as Van Vicker, Prince David Osei, Wanlov Kubolor, Efya, DKB, Barima Sidney, Afia Schwarzenegger and D-Black.

The event aimed to pressure the government to urgently resolve the three-year energy crisis.

In recent days, total blackouts have occurred in some areas of the country.

Places like Lapaz, Abeka, Sowutuom, Kasoa, Tema, Kwashieman, Odorkor, Awoshie and parts of northern, central and eastern Ghana have experienced power outages.

This comes weeks after Ghana's electricity company transferred its operations to Power Distribution Services (PDS).

The takeover took place in February 2019.

PDS should reverse ECG activities to make it profitable.

In addition, the new management should improve access to electricity while reducing waste in the system in order to block any leaks that drain the ECG's financial data.

According to the PDS, the power outage is a result of technical problems.
