Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder teamed up with Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani and Bob Weir to create a new song, "Rock You". The title will appear on Felder's next album, American Rock & # 39; n 'roll, released April 5 via BMG.
"Rock You" is a hymn to percussive sound built around crisp guitar chords and showcased by a Satriani solo. Felder and Hagar share the lead vocals, while Weir adds his voice to the chorus. The track also arrives with a lyrical video containing footage of Felder and his band performing live.
Felder said Rolling stone that he went to Hagar's studio, outside San Francisco, to record the voice of "Rock You," giving the kickoff to a fortuitous series of events. "By the time we finished, Joe Satriani came in," recalls Felder. "I said," Joe, take a guitar and let some guitar parts together. Joe and I plugged in and sat in the control room and had a great time writing and arranging the guitar parts. By the time we finished the guitars, Bob Weir walked down the hall and I asked him to sing with us on the chorus. Everything fell together and it was so much fun to work with Sammy, Joe and Bob on this track. It tears completely!
"Rock You" marks the second offer of American Rock & # 39; n 'roll, following the title song released in January. American Rock & # 39; n 'roll follows Felder's album in 2012, Road foreverand will feature contributions by Slash, Mick Fleetwood, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, Peter Frampton and Richie Sambora.
Felder will begin a tour of North America to support American Rock & # 39; n 'roll March 16th at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, California.
