While Kurt Angle has announced that he will make a farewell match to WrestleMania 35, his opponent is currently unknown. WWE has now announced six opportunities on its social media channels.
WWE asked fans who wanted to see WWE Hall Of Famer play its final wrestling match, showing images of six other WWE wrestlers.
These names were:
According to rumors, Cena would be Angle's opponent at WrestleMania because of the two men's common story. Angle was Cena's first WWE match and Cena also inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Another choice, perhaps obvious, to tell a story. Corbin is a thorn in the foot of Angle for a year already, replacing him as General Manager, attacking and beating him several times.
Like Corbin, the Intercontinental Champion was a problem for Kurt Angle, part of the attacks led by Baron Corbin, although if he enters' Mania as a champion, it seems less likely.
Again, it seems unlikely that WWE will cause Angle to face a current WrestleMania champion, especially that of another brand with which he has not engaged with WWE. However, they have a lot of history together of TNA.
Like Corbin and Lashley, Drew McIntyre has been involved in countless defeats against Angle over the last few months. He also used Angle for Raw, which really sparked the story of his retirement, but it looks like WWE is pushing him towards a match involving Roman Reigns.
The last option is one that may surprise more than one, but the WWE was offering optional Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin recently appeared on WWE Raw alongside Paul Heyman and has a lot of history with Kurt during their team days.
