WELLINGTON: New Zealand police arrested four people on Friday after being slaughtered in two mosques in the city of Christchurch.
"Four are in detention, three are men and one is a woman," New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush told reporters in Wellington.
"We managed to secure a few bombs attached to vehicles," he said, referring to improvised explosive devices.
He added that it was not possible to presume that the attack had been isolated in Christchurch, adding, "At the moment, we should never issue any badumptions."
The New Zealand media reported that between nine and 27 people were killed.
