Netflix removes the Bird Box scene showing the tragedy of real life months after the backlash

Netflix has announced its intention to remove images of a real disaster that occurred in a train of the Bird Box Sandra Bullock two months after insisting that this is not the case.

Bird Box used images of a train accident that occurred in Quebec, Canada, which killed 43 people in 2013.

Netflix, in a statement to The Wrap, confirmed that he, along with the directors of the film, "decided to replace the clip" only a few months after the brutal reaction, the Canadian Parliament itself opposing it.

"We are sorry for the suffering caused to the community of Lac-Mégantic," wrote the streaming site.

Canada's Minister of Culture and Communications Nathalie Roy said it was the right decision on Twitter.

She originally published in French on Twitter: "This result shows that by being united and uniting our efforts, everything is possible."

Bird Box is not the only one using real images of the disaster with the Canadian science fiction television series Travelers, which also uses images of the Lac-Mégantic disaster.

Peabad Alley Entertainment, the company behind the series, said that she had received the images of the seller of archive footage Pond 5 and that they "were not aware of its specific sources ".

Pond 5 told the BBC that she wished to apologize to "any offended person, especially the victims and their families".

The show is excused later and said that he would replace it out of respect.

Bird Box is currently on Netflix.
