The International Space Station is a convergence of science, technology and human innovation that is demonstrating new technologies and enabling impossible searches on Earth. The space station has been continuously occupied since November 2000. During this period, more than 230 people and various types of international and commercial spacecraft visited the laboratory in orbit. The space station remains the springboard for NASA's next big jump in exploration, including future missions on the moon and, possibly, Mars.
