There are only six episodes of Game of thrones – when she returns next month for her eighth and final season, it will be the shortest series of the series. But with most of the story still to be finished, reports began during Season 8 production that most individual episodes would arrive within 90 minutes. HBO has confirmed the "estimated" lengths of episodes of the last six installments, as follows:
Episode 1 – 54 minutes
Episode 2 – 58 minutes
Episode 3 – 82 minutes
Episode 4 – 78 minutes
Episode 5 – 80 minutes
Episode 6 – 80 minutes
This means that only the first two episodes will take place at the usual mark of one hour, the last four pieces receiving accelerated performance. Of course, the most important thing here is that the episodes are the right length – enough for character moments, these epic battles we all expect, and without clutter for reasons of clutter.
