The 2019 National Science and Math Quiz (NSMQ) Regional Selection Contest allowed T.I.Ambad to choose the last place for schools in the Ashanti region for the quiz preliminaries.
With a total of 49 points, they beat Effiduasi Senior High who scored 37 points
Myjoyonline.com reports that St. Mary's SHS Girls suffered to stay in the game, finishing with just 18 points, but also did better than Collins Senior High, who is still pursuing his national championship debut. They scored only six points.
At the penultimate contest, Toase Senior High qualified with 34 points.

The St. Hubert seminar and the high school failed to participate for the third consecutive time in the televised quiz, scoring 12 points less than Friday's winners.
In the 2018 competition, they were eliminated in the eighth stage of their first game, having made their appearance as a high school starting in 2017.
Amaniampong Senior High and Barekese Senior High both scored 13 points and six points respectively; only good for the records.

Then, for 25 years, the NSMQ has been the first inter-school intellectual competition in Ghana. The emphasis on science and mathematics has not yet borne fruit in national politics, but it seems that it is not the fault of the organizers.
The defending champions of 2018 are St. Peter's High Schools and Colleges.
