Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said he was against Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Spurs will face the reigning English champions three times in 11 days with a third game after their two-legged clash that could play a crucial role in the Premier League race.
During the home game in North London, Mauricio Pochettino's team is expected to host City in Tottenham's new stadium, after nearly two years at Wembley Stadium.
The Argentinian has a history with Guardiola after being struck at the Catalan debut as a manager. He took charge of Espanyol in 2009 and faced off against his local rival, Barcelona, in his first match, before giving them a defeat at Camp Nou La Liga.
They had not lost at home for 27 years. During his career as manager of Tottenham, Pochettino played five games against Guardiola's Manchester City, tipping three times with a draw and one win.
Following the draw of the Champions League, the former boss of Barcelona paid tribute to the Spurs.
"We know each other very well," he said during his pre-game press conference on the eve of a FA Cup quarterfinal clash with Swansea City, as the Manchester Evening News reports.
"We face each other several times, I respect them a lot, I know very well the quality of this team, we will try to arrive in the best possible conditions." It is a pleasure to be in quarterfinal. "
Regarding the chances of City in the Champions League, he added: "Every team has its strengths and weaknesses, we are strong in some areas and weak in others.
"It's what it is – it's what it is – never in my life, I would have imagined something better." What I want, what is it? Is that people are coming back from the international break. "
