Half Lovato looked happy and healthy as she was coming out of Beverly Hills.

The 26-year-old singer chose a casual outfit under an oversize hoodie and leggings while she was enjoying a retail therapy session under the sun on Friday.

The release of Disney's former star comes after she became frank about her drug addiction fight and her relapse, which would have been her seventh anniversary of sobriety.

Completing her understated look with a pair of Givenchy sandals and a baseball cap, Demi seemed to be in a good mood while she enjoyed a relaxing day.

Meanwhile, with time to think about her almost fatal drug overdose last July, singer Sober went to Instagram Story on Friday to tell how she turned a personal poison into a positive one.

"Today, I would have been sober for seven years," wrote Lovato. "I do not regret going out because I needed to make those mistakes, but I must never forget that it's exactly what they were: mistakes."

Half then focused on gratitude and those who helped her regain her sobriety.

"Glad that Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous never close the door, no matter how many times you have to start over," she continues.

"I have not lost six years – I will always have that experience – but now I have to add time with a new course and a new time count."

With those struggling against drug addiction in her mind, the native of New Mexico was inspired by her own trials and tribulations to remind people that they, too, can dramatically change their lives.

"If you've had a relapse and are afraid to ask for help again, know that it's possible to take a step closer to healing."
