The Association of University Administrators of Ghana (GAUA) indicated that the stalemate in the Winneba University of Education should be resolved through internal structures to deal with any form of grievance or dispute within the university to help restore peace and harmony on campus.

In a statement signed and published by the national president of GAUA, m Kwame Yeboah Jr. Friday, the badociation said that she believed the current situation at UEW requires dialogue and an exercise of balanced judgment.

"We therefore seek the benevolent indulgence of all, including the Government and its agencies / allied institutions, as well as circumspection and respect for the rules and regulations of the University, as well as national laws" said GAUA.

The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has observed with great concern the ongoing incidents that have led to the demonstration and destruction of properties belonging to the University of Education Winneba (UEW), by a section of university students, Thursday, March 14, 2019.

GAUA is extremely concerned that UEW has recently faced difficulties in its efforts to enforce University rules and regulations.

Therefore, we wish to add to appeals by parents and civil societies to respectfully request the Board of Governors of the University to take steps to utilize the internal structures of the university in order to deal with any form of grievances or dispute within the university in order to restore peace and harmony. on its campuses.

GAUA believes that the law on universities and its statutes provide for adequate mechanism to get out of the dead end.

We believe that the current situation on the campus of the University of Education Winneba requires a dialogue and an exercise of balanced judgment.

We therefore call upon the benevolent indulgence of all, including the Government and its organs / institutions as well as individuals, to be cautious and to let the rules and regulations of the University and national laws follow their course.

We also wish to call on the University's staff and students, as well as all other stakeholders, to cooperate in all aspects to bring the situation back to normal.
