The 2018 BILD Awards finalists from the Calgary area have been announced. The awards recognize innovation and excellence in all aspects of the residential construction industry in Calgary and surrounding areas – from developing new communities to new home designs.
"The BILD Awards are an opportunity for our industry to recognize the work of their peers," said Brian Hahn, Executive Director of BILD Calgary Region. "Our industry is unique in that it is obviously competitive, but also very collaborative."
Prizes are awarded in 10 different categories, with the finalists being chosen according to a detailed process, with industry judges awarding points, which are then authenticated by an accounting firm. In addition, Grand BILD Awards are awarded to builders, renovators and partners who have demonstrated superior design, sales, advertising and / or service performance.
The contest drew 729 nominations this year, which were ranked among the finalists, with 101 companies vying for 65 awards, which will be presented at a gala evening and dinner on April 13th.
The awards, formerly known as the SAM Awards, have been distributed for more than three decades. "This will be the second year for the Calgary Region Awards BILD, but the gala was held prior to the CHBA – Calgary merger for 30 years under another name," said Hahn.
