The death toll in the shooting of the Christchurch Mosque has been raised to 49, confirmed the Police Commissioner of New Zealand, adding that a man in his twenties had been charged with murder and was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
Nearly 41 people died in a mosque, seven in another and one died in the hospital, said Mike Bush to reporters, while more than 20 others were transported to the hospital with serious injury.

The officers are also trying to determine the role of three other suspects arrested, Bush said, adding that they may have had nothing to do with the attacks.
