Eden Hazard should put his personal happiness ahead of his ambitions when he badesses his options this summer.
This is the message of former Chelsea winger Clive Walker, who is desperate to see the Belgian stay at Stamford Bridge.
At the end of the season, there will be only 12 months left in Hazard. He has often spoken of Real Madrid as his dream club.
The move was made more appealing by the renewal of Zinedine Zidane's term, which Hazard idolized as a child, and The Sun now claims that Los Blancos are ready to make an opening offer of £ 70 million for l & # 39; winger.
But Walker thinks Hazard, in his seventh season as a Chelsea player, is settled in London and should understand that money will not always bring him satisfaction.
"He was our talisman, he has been great since coming to the football club," Walker said at Ian Stone's Comedy Breakfast (Monday to Friday from 6:30 to 10:30).
"It's a pleasure to watch. He is a nice guy on all levels. It would be a serious loss for Chelsea to lose him when he went there.
"In some ways, as a former player, I understand why he would like to go, but he looks very happy in Chelsea and I think happiness can be very helpful when you think about your career.
"Let's hope we keep it for a few more years."
If Hazard goes away, Chelsea will likely have to look for replacements internally, as a two-window ban is suspended.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, who had been the subject of four offers of German champion Bayern Munich in January, would almost certainly not be allowed to leave the club but should instead climb to first place.
Until now, the talented English winger had to settle for substitute appearances and starts in the Europa League, but Walker thinks he's about to play an important role in the Premier League .
"Callum should … seize these opportunities when they present themselves," Walker added.
"I thought this game [vs Dynamo Kiev away] for him was a good one. We have seen with his objective what he is capable of. To take this step forward is very difficult.
"We know that Maurizio Sarri is trying to improve his game. It's about sense of position and defense."
