The 17-year-old boy who smashed an egg on the head of an Australian senator spoke for the first time since the incident – describing how he had been "attacked by 30 bogans".
Senator Fraser Anning of Queensland was convicted this week for his speech on the terrorist attack on the Christchurch Mosque, after claiming that the slaughter was a result of New Zealand's immigration policy.
A teenager was then filmed breaking an egg on the head of the politician while he was talking to reporters at an event in Melbourne yesterday.
The politician was filmed hitting the boy twice and grabbing him before the crowd rushed to separate him.
The teenager is voiced for the first time since the incident in a video posted on social media.
He says, "Do not give to politicians, you will be treated by 30 bogans at the same time." I learned the hard way.
During the fight, the teenager – nicknamed "Egg Boy" on social media – is tackled to the ground, grounded and placed under the guidance of Anning supporters.
A petition calling for the dismissal of Anning has more than 225,000 signatures.
After Friday's terrorist attack that left 50 dead and fifty wounded, Anning blamed the mbadacre for the country's immigration policy.
He accused New Zealand of letting "Muslim fanatics" into the country.
His remarks were largely condemned and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that a motion censuring Anning would be tabled when Parliament resumed proceedings.
The Prime Minister said: "These comments are abominable and they are ugly and they have no place in Australia.Honestly, he should be ashamed of himself."
