Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has written to the Energy Distribution Service (PDS) to request load shedding from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily on the affected MT / LV lines of the PDS.

The request for load reduction on the MT / LV lines of the PDS was necessary due to the diversion of the 330KV Aboadze-Volta transmission line to Pokuase in order to facilitate the construction of the interchange undertaken by the Roads Department. of Pokuase.

In a letter quoted by GhanaWeb on March 14, 2019, GRIDCo noted that the work was initially to be completed by March 14, 2019, but that some of the problems encountered by the contractor during the execution of the work brought them to consider being finished before March 19, 2019.

"We therefore wish to ask you to prolong the breakdown of the affected MT / LV PDS lines in the hallway until March 19, 2018. It should last from 8 am to 6 pm each day," the statement said.

Parts of the capital have been hit by a total power outage commonly known as "dumsor" for 3 consecutive days after the takeover of the PDS.

According to them, this was due to technical difficulties upstream at their Mallam and Graphic Road bulk supply points, affecting power outages in the western and central parts of Accra, and they badured that the current would be restored immediately. the challenges are solved.
