Ghana signs EU 40 million grant to promote investment and job creation | General news

Ghana has signed with the European Union (EU) a grant of 40 million euros to promote investment and job creation in the country.
The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, revealed this information today during a press briefing in Accra.

The financing agreement runs from 2014 to 2020. This is the latest program to be signed on Ghana's indicative allocation of 323 million euros under the 11th European Development Fund and the National Indicative Program.

"The program focuses on the areas of business climate, public financial governance and employment, and its main objectives are to promote domestic and foreign investment to enable businesses to lead the economic transformation and create jobs, "he said.

"It will also strengthen the governance of public finances and boost domestic revenue mobilization and the fight against corruption.

"Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and EU Ambbadador to Ghana Diana Acconcia have signed the agreement, which should also promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. (ODD) in Ghana ".

Oppong Nkrumah added that the funds would be managed by the Ghanaian government and that the program was aligned with the vision of President Akufo-Addo of Ghana Beyond Aid.
